Epified: Mahabharata Videos

  • Part B
    • A Summary of What Went Down
      • We started where we left on in part A.
      • Kunthi had a big secret. That secret was that she had a long-lost son that she put in basket and sent it down a river.
      • Pandu, Kunti, and Madri retreated to the forest. Pandu was hunting one day and shot a hermit couple. The hermit man cursed Pandu.
      • The curse was that Pandu would die if he had intimate relations with a woman.
      • Kunti uses her gift to call upon god to bear children. Kunti has 3 sons of her own and called upon the god sone last time to give Madri her twin sons.
      • Pandu dies of his curse, leaving Kunthi with the 5 sons.
      • Gandhari's first pregnancy ended up as an abiotic lump instead of a child.
      • The lump was taken and split into 100 pieces, which turned into Gandhari's 100 sons.
      • Kunti and the Pandavas returned to the kingdom, this made Duryodhan angry.
      • Duryodhan decided he was going to poison the Pandava brothers. Only Bheema was affected by the poison.
      • Bheema was tied up and thrown into the river.
      • Bheema ended up serving that offense.
      • Vasuki gifted Bheema a magic drink, which gave him the strength of 1,000 elephants.
      • Drona taught the Pandava brothers all they knew.
      • Each of the brothers chose a skill that they would excel in.
      • One day they saw dog get dagger by an arrow but not just one multiple. Arjuna could not bear to see the dog in that condition.
      • The archer, Ekalavya, of the dog incident claimed that Drona was his guru. Ekalavya was the world's best archer.
      • Ekalavya was commanded to cut his right thumb off by Drona. He was no longer the world's best archer.
(A picture of a waterfall in India. I thought this was appropriate because of the several river references in this part of the story.

Just a note, I am pretty sure the videos spelled the names of the characters differently than the PDE version, so if they are not consistent in spellings that is why.
