Tech Tip: Blogger Featured Post EC

Image
(My most popular post sidebar widget.  Screenshot by me, Hannah Mulder) This week for my tech tip I actually did not add a featured post to my sidebar because Blogger insisted that I already had one even though I do not, but trough this tech tip I figured out how to feature my most popular post, so I did that instead. I configured it to have only my topped viewed post from the last year. I also came up with a pretty witty name for the widget, or at least I thought it was.

Week 11 Review

Image
(Counting down the days until I get a well needed break!  Screenshot by me, Hannah Mulder) I have backed up my blog and portfolio website to my computer for safety measures. I have also checked the grade progress chart, and I am about a week and a half ahead of the schedule to get the grade I want. My favorite video from the past week of announcements was on Wednesday's announcement . It was called Enemy of the Reich: The Noor Inayat Khan Story - Trailer . This video was about a Muslim women, who was young. She helped Winston Churchill in the war against the Nazis. She made a name for herself and what she hoped and believed in. I thought this video was super interesting because of all the different aspects of everyone's background, yet they were all fighting against one thing. My favorite graphic from this week was the How Long to Nap picture guide from Thursday's announcement . This was my favorite because I love to nap, but s...

Week 11 Story: Jara's Story of Significance

Image
Jara’s Story of Significance There was a forest that was as silent as could be. It seemed as if a single noise was made the whole world would have heard it. In the heart of the forest stood Jara. Jara was a hunter, more specifically an archer. Jara had been in the forest a while and started to get eerie feelings about the whole ordeal. He was the only living creature, so it seemed. He was on the hunt for any ounce of protein, but there was not one insect to be found. There were no birds singing or cooing from the tree tops. In fact, the trees themselves wilted in their death. Jara was convinced that he was the only leaving creature left on Earth. He was starving. He was exhausted. He was hanging on to his last ounce of energy for dear life. He was going mad and was ready to use everything left in him to draw his arrow if he heard a noise or saw any movement in hopes of whatever caught his attention was food. Finally, he saw a sliver of movement, and without thinking twice ...

Reading Notes: Krishna Krishna, Part A

Image
(A picture of the book cover. Screenshot by me, Hannah Mulder) This week I started reading the Kindle version of "Krishna Krishna." I have typed out the key part of each chapter below. Part A Introduction The introduction briefly explained Krishna's story. Prologue Jara, the hunter, was alone and convinced that he was the only living creature left on Earth until he shot his arrow, which ended up in Krishna's foot. Lord Krishna was not mad at Jara, in fact Krishna asked Jara to carry out one last mission for him. The mission Krishna had given Jara was to narrate his story. Jara told Narada Krishna's story so he could document it since Jara could not read or write. Narada's Discourse Gave a brief overview of who Narada was as a person. It explained the parameters that Jara was given when retelling Krishna's story. Krishna's complexity was compared to Rama's simplicity. Krishna had a great deal of respect for women. He helpe...
