Switzerland, My Favorite Place!

I have not traveled very much, but there is one destination that will always be one of my favorite places to visit.

Lucerne, Switzerland. I went to the beautiful city of Lucerne about a year ago on vacation. I spent two full days in the city. I experienced a 35 minute gondola ride up to Mount Pilatus, which happens to be above the clouds. It was such a beautiful and serene view. I also took a walking tour through the city. I learned about the culture, history, and myths of the city. Lucerene was such a incredible experience for me. The following picture is of the view at the top of Mount Pilatus:

    Oh, this is great, Hannah: I was hoping to finish up the favorite places posts today, and your post popped up at just the right time. Those Swiss mountains are truly beautiful... and since you have seen those for real, that might help you also imagine the great snowy mountains that are part of the Indian landscape too. You will meet up with the Himalayas in the readings for class... especially Mount Kailash, which is the home of Lord Shiva. :-)

    My first name is Stalder which is a Swiss name but I have never been to Switzerland! I would love to visit Switzerland and hike and climb there. Once on a long hike I had to hitchhike through a National Park and the people who picked me up were Swiss and they were extremely nice and generous to pick me up. I felt so dumb because afterwards I realized I never told them my name!

Week 3 Story: Rama and Sita's Story of Love at First Sight

Rama and Lakshmana were eager to explore the new city that was near them, but they needed permission to leave Vishvamitra, so they asked and were allowed to enter into the city. It might have been getting dark, but the city was still lively as ever; people were crowding the streets. The people starred at Rama and Lakshmana with curiosity. The princes were dressed in bright colors, with flashy accessories, and they were carrying weapons. Girls and women all through the city were taking notice of the fine looking princes and buzzing to each other about them.
