Week 2 Reading Overview

I have decided to read the  Public Domain Edition version of Ramayana. I chose this version because I think that the different author's and writing styles might be interesting. I also like that there is a free audio version, so I can listen and learn how to correctly pronounce the character names if I have difficulties. I also like there are images. Images in my opinion give more context to the story, especially if I am learning about a new country I have not studied before. I am not crazy about the old-fashioned language, but there were pros and cons to both versions.

The Hidden Treasure: Wisdom Wins a War
I have chosen this comic book in particular based off the title because there was not a summary. In any case, I chose this book because it sounds like it is about wisdom, and I mean I can always use a nice book about wisdom every so often. This also appeared to be a stand alone tale, and I prefer to read stand alone novels normally.

Sudama: The Power of True Friendship
This comic book was chosen because I feel like as a first year university student I have struggled with figuring out who my true friends are. I have met new people, but I have also left behind some friends in Texas, which has left questioning some friendships. I think this book fits into some struggles I have been facing recently. I have selected the below picture because this story involves Krishna.

Rama and the Ramayana: Crash Course World Mythology #27
I have decided I might be interested in watching this video because I have found in the past that the Crash Course series is entertaining and helpful. I think this will be a great way to better understand these two characters.

Foods for Gods
I have decided this video might be an interest for me because I have thought about creating my storybook about the traditional foods of India. This video might be helpful to me if I were to choose that topic. I also think that this video will be fun knowledge to have going forward in this class.
